What Is a PBA?
A Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) is a community-led network focused on reducing wildfire risks and restoring healthy landscapes through the safe use of prescribed fire. Highlights include:
- Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Landowners, agencies, and stakeholders work together to plan and conduct burns.
- Shared Resources: Members pool tools, training, and expertise to lower costs and increase safety.
- Proven Results: Prescribed burns reduce fuel loads, improve ecosystems, and build wildfire resilience.
PBAs empower communities to take action, protect their land, and create a safer, healthier future.

How To Get Involved
The Shasta County Fire Safe Council is in the early stages of collaborating with landowners, neighbors, and partners across the county to form a Prescribed Burn Association (PBA). We are gathering data to support our county in this initiative.
